Why I won’t support PROTECT IP Act (PIPA) .. and why you shouldn’t either!

This quick video summarizes all the reasons why I believe we all need to speak up against PROTECT IP Act (PIPA).

As I said in a Twitter post earlier this morning, I believe companies and individuals have the right to protect their intellectual property. We just need to find a way to do it without interfering with the basic foundations of the Internet, and my individual rights to access information.

As 2008 comes to a close I want to everyone a very Happy Holiday and a joyous New Year. This year has brought its share of ups and downs but through it all I am truly grateful for my family, my friends and my life.

The Obama team continues to demonstrate that they recognize the value of the communication and that the internet can be a really powerful channel to help facilitate communication.

Their new website Change.gov publishes news releases, information about the President-elect, Vice President-elect and information about the various individuals Barack Obama has chosen to work with him in the White House. It is also a great place for you to post your ideas to help our country get back on track.

You can also apply for a job in the Obama-Biden administration!

This past weekend Tina Fey appeared with John McCain on SNL and true to form .. had us laughing in the aisles. John’s quick comedic timing and willingness to poke fun at himself and his campaign showed his softer side. His wife Cindy also appeared briefly.

Tina continued portrayal of the republican VP candidate was impeccable .. making us wonder if she will continue to play the role if Sarah continues to stay in the media spotlight after the election. More importantly .. will Tina’s impersonation impact Sarah’s decision not to continue pursuit of a more visible role.

A few weeks back Tina Fey hosted SNL‘s first episode since the end of the writer’s strike. During her appearance as the special women’s issues commentator, she claimed that Bitch is the new Black! Tina Fey kicked off the first new episode of Saturday Night Live since the writer’s strike ended. The best skit of the night had to be the “Women’s News” section of Weekend update. As the “Woman’s News” correspondent, Tina Fey pulled no punches as she reviews key women’s issues in the news. The most important being Hillary Clinton and the Presidential 2008 Campaign.
